Xinjiang Telecom chooses the EVA system to ensure the quality of end-to-end IPTV services
In August 2013, China Telecom Xinjiang Branch officially purchased the EVA distributed IPTV monitoring system for end-to-end IPTV service quality monitoring and fault diagnosis for Urumqi Provincial Center and Kuitun local network. In this project, Xinjiang Telecom deployed a series of EVA probes (including EVA-HS 10 Gigabit probes, EVA-HS 10 Gigabit probes and EVA-AP access probes) at the key nodes of MAN (including core routers, DSLAM convergence switches, DSLAM, OLT, IPTV set-top boxes for specific users) for IPTV in Urumqi Provincial Center. The live UDP multicast stream and the live TCP unicast stream pushed to Kuitun local network by provincial center are monitored for 24×7 long-term. The end-to-end QoS/QoE indexes of IPTV multicast and unicast streams flowing through each network node are collected, and IPTV complaints of specific users are quickly diagnosed. In addition, Xinjiang Telecom has also deployed a set of EVPM central management platform software in the provincial management center to centralize and unified management, centralized alarm collection and query, historical baseline generation, and multi-probe QoS/QoE correlation analysis of specific IPTV media streams.
Through the implementation of the distributed IPTV monitoring system, the company will assist Xinjiang Telecom to upgrade the IPTV network maintenance and management level through high-quality technical support and consulting services, and achieve the following expected objectives:
· Establish an end to end QoS/QoE index baseline and index system based on IPTV business characteristics.
· Aiming at the complaint users of the IPTV service problem area, fast IPTV obstacle location and obstacle handling are carried out.
· The corresponding relationship between IPTV QoS index and traditional index system of IP MAN is explored as the basis for adjusting the performance optimization of IP network.
