Since Fuzhou Telecom first purchased EVA video analyzer in December 2010, Fuzhou Telecom has carried out four EVA expansion projects as of the publication period. At present, Fuzhou Telecom’s network maintenance personnel can use EVA system and meter in three ways.

（1）IPTV Network Operations and Maintenance Center uses EVA-HS probes to monitor 24×7 traffic quality of multicast and unicast video streams at IPTV platform outlets and IP backbone links, thus initiatively detecting various problems of provincial CMS live program sources or EMS servers at each parent office at the first time.

（2）Maintenance staff of Fuzhou Telecom regional bureaus use EVA-AP access probes to monitor the uplink of specific OLT, DSLAM, campus or hotel switches over a medium to long term (3-7 days) so as to detect and test regional IPTV failures.

（3）Community managers use EVA-Pad handheld instruments to conduct IPTV troubleshooting tests on the user’s home network side, and can preliminarily locate typical IPTV program sources, platforms or IP bearer network faults through the EVA expert system. As a result of the above multi-level IPTV fault detection means, Fuzhou Telecom troubleshooting efficiency of difficult IPTV has been greatly improved, more than 90% of the difficult fault are found the root cause of the problem.

In view of the successful experience of Fuzhou Telecom in using EVA instruments, the Operation and Maintenance Department of Fujian Telecom Company organizes technical exchanges among the backbone IPTV network maintenance technology of branch companies in various cities, and invites Fuzhou Telecom to share the experience of IPTV troubleshooting. In addition, Fuzhou Telecom will also IPTV fault detection methodology and successful cases reported to the University of China Telecom Online Optoelectronic Classroom for sharing and exchange. At present, most branches of Fujian Telecom (including Fuzhou, Quanzhou, Putian, Zhangzhou, Ningde, Sanming, etc.) have purchased a variety of EVA equipment (including EVA-HS high-performance probes, EVA-AP access probes, portable EVA meters) for daily IPTV maintenance and troubleshooting testing.
