In November 2015, Dekeshi Communication Co., Ltd. officially won the bid for China Digital Interactive TV Quality Analysis Cloud Service Platform Project, which plans to deploy QoS soft probes in China Digital Media’s 1 million set-top boxes (including DVB+OTT set-top boxes and Internet TV set-top boxes). The pin is used to collect the quality and operation status of the set-top box video service,analyze the operation quality of the entire interactive system, and perform real-time alarms for regional or platform problems. The system consists of two major components:

（1） Set-top box soft probe: using DVB signal quality (HFC level / period of stay frequency, channel MER value, etc.), OTT on-demand quality (on-demand success rate, first buffer delay, video jam, download rate, server response delay and error code, IP network packet loss and delay, etc.), EPG quality (EPG success rate, page response delay, page download delay, etc.), network access performance (DHCP success rate and delay, DNS success rate and latency, etc.), terminal performance (CPU%, memory/ROM usage, WiFi strength and interference, etc.).

（2） The cloud service platform: deploys the set-top box soft probe center management software to perform statistical analysis on the KPI indicators reported by a large number of set-top boxes, and provides real-time service usage by region and service classification; IP network fault alarm and HFC network fault alarm can be provided by region, application service failure alarms, etc.

The fault complaint handling efficiency of the operation and maintenance department of China Digital Media Interactive TV Platform can be greatly improved by deploying this system. It can also provide an effective reference for IP network and CDN platform optimization.
