BesTV Selects Dekscom EVQM OTT Set Top Box QoS Monitoring System
In September 2015, after six months of comprehensive evaluation and trial, the BesTV Internet Business Group and the company were officially signed the “Internet TV Service Quality Monitoring Service Framework Agreement”. According to the agreement, BesTV will deploy EVQA soft probes in its B2C small red set-top boxes and some telecom operators’ B2B set-top boxes throughout the country, deploying EVQM video quality center management platform on its cloud platform for collecting and summarizing EVQA reports. QoS/QoE indicator. Through the deployment of the EVQM system, the OTT video failure user complaint handling capability of BesTV will be greatly improved, and the reference basis for its CDN network optimization will be provided. According to forecasts, BesTV will deploy at least 1 million EVQA set-top box soft probes in the next 2-3 years. The main application scenarios of the system include:
(1) Fast user complaint handling: The system can automatically identify and record various OTT live and on-demand programs and EPG access behaviors viewed by users; it can alarm and count user quality problems such as video lag and automatically determine the cause of the lag fault. (including CDN server performance issues, telecom carrier network issues, user home network issues, terminal performance issues, etc.)
(2) OTT video fault mining and network optimization: The EVQM system can classify and summarize KPIs and alarm data reported by a large number of OTT terminals, and allows network maintenance personnel to flexibly define various fault dig paths for multi-dimensional (including geographic regions, CDNs). Fault dig and analysis of servers, OTT terminal types, lag fault types, QoS alarm types, and HTTP errors, and found deep OTT video service bottlenecks and fault causes.
