Dekscom won the bid for Shanghai Unicom IPTV service quality monitoring system
In December 2016, Dekscom successfully won the bid for the IPTV service quality monitoring platform project of China Unicom Shanghai Branch due to its leading IPTV+OTT dual-mode fusion probe solution.
In this project, Dekscom provides ETQM end-to-end IPTV and OTT video service quality monitoring system to Shanghai Unicom, including the following components:
(1) Deploy EVQA soft probes in Shanghai Unicom’s 100,000 IPTV and OTT set-top boxes to achieve comprehensive monitoring of video quality of experience (QoE) and quality of service (QoS) for end users, enabling customer service personnel to achieve fast IPTV through “one-click diagnosis” fault responsibility demarcation (distinguish between IPTV platform, IP bearer network and set-top box terminals).
(2) Deploy multi-screen analyzer and EVA 10M media stream hard probe in Shanghai Unicom Jinqiao Center computer room to monitor 24×7 of all IPTV live broadcast streams output from Shanghai Wenguang input to CMS platform and CMS platform. Real-time alarm of program stream.
(3) Deploy the IPTV service availability dial test probe in the Shanghai Unicom Baotou engine room, perform 24×7 service availability monitoring on the IPTV authentication server and EPG server, and perform real-time alarm on the IPTV authentication, the home page, and the faults and performance problems of the secondary menu pages.
(4) Deploy IP bearer network monitoring probes at all edge CDN nodes of Shanghai Unicom MAN to monitor IPTV multicast streams, RTSP unicast streams, HLS unicast streams, IP network performance and other Internet services such as Internet access, mail, games.
(5) Deploy EVQM central management system software on Shanghai Unicom cloud platform to realize unified data collection, alarm and configuration management for all EVQA set-top box soft probes and EVA hard probes, and QoS of different monitoring points collected by each probe. The QoE indicator performs end-to-end correlation analysis to quickly locate specific network node locations that cause IPTV video quality issues (such as stuck, mosaic, flower screen, black screen).
