Dekscom won the bid for Xinjiang Telecom IPTV set-top box soft probe service quality monitoring system

In July 2017, Dekscom won the bid for the IPTV set-top box soft probe service quality monitoring system project of China Telecom Xinjiang Branch. Xinjiang Telecom conducted a comprehensive evaluation test on the accuracy of the IPTV set-top box soft probe monitoring indicators, mainly through network damage meter to simulate various network scrambling environments (including different levels of network packet loss rate, delay and jitter, etc.). To verify whether the set-top box soft probe can accurately measure various network QoS indicators, and compare the compliance of the soft probe’s video MOS score with the real user viewing experience at the same time.

In this project, Dekscom will deploy soft probes in the 800,000 Android HD STB of Xinjiang Telecom to support the concurrent IPTV QoS/QoE data acquisition for 600,000 online users. Through this project, Xinjiang Telecom will further improve the end-to-end operation and maintenance capability of ITV, build the ATOM monitoring capability of service quality indicators based on soft probes on the STB side, unify the collection of monitoring data and send the service quality assurance system for intelligent analysis, and provide real-time end-to-end diagnostic atomic capabilities to support the end-to-end operation and maintenance of ITV. To provide support for the realization of business objectives, one button diagnosis, pre inspection and pre service, self-service capability.

In addition, the soft probe analysis platform can also import syndicated fund data, through a large number of set-top box video quality data association summary and fault mining analysis, to identify poor quality users, fault network elements (BAS/OLT/PON ports) and problem CDN server, thus providing a strong support for active user care, network and CDN optimization. The system can be smoothly upgraded to support 3 million STB video quality data analysis, and support 10 CR, BRAS node live broadcast, on-demand program dial-up and summary analysis.
